Welcome!

This is a website that publishes international Track&Field meets, schedules and gives information about world-wide athletics events that are not listed on the IAAF calendar.

The idea is to let the whole world know about an event that is not-known-enough (yet so far!) to be published in an official track and field competitions-listing calendar.

For example, we decided to organize an event called "Both Side Pole Vault World Championships" in Helsinki Finland on April 13 2019 at 5 PM. Currently there is no website to announce events like this. At least we don't know about it. If there is one, please, let me know as soon as possible!

We all know there are some "off-mainstream" athletics competitions, and surprisingly many come up with ideas  - often utopian, let's admit that - with fresh and new kind of a creative spirit that the otherwise wonderful but a bit stiff and conservative athletics community needs to keep itself alive and developing.

This is to say, we definitely don't have anything to oppose IAAF's operations. We only aim to add things that are not possible for the huge world-wide organizations (IAAF, European Athletics Federation, International Olympic Committee etc.) to care about.

If you have an event that you wish to receive participants from all possible countries in the World, you are welcomed to send e-mail, and we publish your happening here. Please, e-mail: internationaltrackmeets@gmail.com

Spread the word about this website and gradually it will grow!

Ten Minute Decathlon

September 14 2019
1 PM
Eltsu "Djuran" Track (outdoors)
Training track just next the Olympic Stadium
Helsinki Finland
Idea: Each competitor must complete 9 events of decathlon in 9.5 minutes.
1500m starts when time is 10:00.
Only one athlete competes on track at the same time!
All jumping areas and throwing equipment are placed in one designated area.
Unless you insist running across the track back and forth to throw the shot, discus and javelin.
Also, just a tip, one should measure marks in long jump, high jump and pole vault before the clock starts running, right?
Of course there are naturals who don't need to bother about trivial things such as setting one's blocks in 100m and 110m hurdles. Just do it! (a clue for a sponsor?)

Horizontal Pole Vault Challenge

September 14 2019
3 PM
Eltsu "Djuran" Track (outdoors)
Training track just next the Olympic Stadium
Helsinki Finland
Idea: As pole vault is normally competed upwards (vertically), this time the results are measured in lenght (horizontally). How far can you jump with the little help of a pole? The distance is taken from take off leg (verified by digital video technology), and the landing is the same as in the long jump. The pole's tip is in the long jump area's sand!
-Did someone say track and field is dead or boring?

The list will continue here as soon as people hear about this Service :-)
